a little bit about me

Hi, I’m B.

(Well, my name is Bernadette, but most people call me B).

WHAT I DO

I use science-backed techniques to help high achievers break through old patterns of procrastination and perfectionism so that they can finally make the real impact in the world that they know they’re here to make.

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO ME

By going beyond mindset work and getting to the root cause of the problem, my clients start to create even more of a ripple effect with the work they’re doing. The constant overthinking and pushing harder are replaced with a feeling of freedom that comes from focusing on what really matters most.

MY PERSONALITY, STRENGTHS AND PREFERENCES

I’m an INFJ, an Enneagram 4, and a Scorpio Sun (and Virgo Rising).

I’m a great listener, I’m a natural at noticing patterns, and I love a challenge.

I’m also a lifelong learner, a recovering perfectionist, and an introvert who loves 1:1 interactions but also thrives on the collective energy of a group that’s come together to focus on the same intention.

Some of my favourite things to talk about and learn more about are transformation, leadership, neuroscience and travel.

My Work Background

As a corporate employee for more than 15 years, I gained plenty of experience in the areas of organisational culture, customer service, customer experience and stakeholder engagement.

I am grateful that I had leadership opportunities early on in my career, leading both people and projects.

It’s always been working with people that lights me up the most.

Back in my corporate days, and now in my own business, there is nothing that I love more than seeing people thrive.

I love when people are able to match up what they’re good at with what they really enjoy doing. It always translates to creating even more of an impact – to the people, to the environment, to the world around them.

Wanting to create even more of an impact was the key driver for me to finally move out of the corporate world and into my own business.

My mission is to remind high-achieving leaders of the unique value that they bring to the world and that they can and will create the impact that they really want to.

I truly believe that …

Creating lasting transformation is possible.

Let’s face it. As a Scorpio, I was never going to be the one to lead surface-level change. I’m here for going deep, for getting to the heart of the matter, for going right down to the core and inspiring the kind of change that is genuinely life changing.

The key to creating lasting transformation that so many often miss is neglecting to include the subconscious part of your mind in the change process. We know from the scientific research that 95% of our behaviour is driven by subconscious thoughts that we’re not even aware of. That’s why focusing solely on mindset work, that engages the conscious part of your mind, will never be enough to create change that actually lasts.

Two things can be true at the same time.

You can feel grateful for what you already have in your life while also feeling the desire for more.

You can feel certain that it’s time for you to expand into a new way of being while also thinking I’m not ready yet.

You can feel excited about stepping into a new way of being that feels like you’re becoming even more you, while also feeling the sadness of letting go of the old version of you.

You are unique.

Sure, we’re all in this together, having a human experience. And also, your experiences, your view of the world, where you are right now, and what is most important to you – that’s uniquely yours.

That’s why I believe in using evidence-based techniques and frameworks that are individualised to suit you and your unique needs. It’s also why I’ll never tell you what you “should” do. You’re always in the best position to know what the next best step is for you. It’s simply my job to help you get clear on what it is.

There are many paths up the mountain, but the view from the top is the same.

what I don’t believe is true at all …

You’re NOT ‘getting in your own way’.

Becoming more resilient DOES NOT mean that you need to ‘toughen up’ or ‘keep going at all costs’.

That feeling of resistance that comes up is NOT a bad thing and it’s NOT something you need to try and get rid of.

a little bit about YOU

People usually come to me when they …

Are tired of working so hard and not seeing the results equal to the effort they’re putting in.

Can no longer tolerate the mismatch between looking “successful” to the outside world but not feeling that way internally.

Can’t ignore their inner truth that’s persistently whispering that there’s so much more that’s waiting for them to explore.

the people i work with tend to:

  • identify as high achievers – they’ve already achieved a lot and know that they have the potential for so much more.
  • care deeply about other people – they want to make a difference to the people and to the environment around them.
  • care about their own personal growth – they already have a lot of self-awareness (and of course, just like everyone, they have their blind spots too).
  • struggle with persistent patterns that get in the way – the most common ones are perfectionism, procrastination and people-pleasing patterns.
  • be in leadership roles – in the workplace, in the community or within their family or social groups.
  • know that their dreams are meant for them and know that there is a way to achieve them – they just haven’t figures out exactly how yet.
  • be committed to going all in on achieving their dreams no matter what – and are willing to let go of their limiting beliefs about what it takes to get there.
  • be willing to be uncomfortable – as they learn new ways of doing things.
  • have decided that they’re ready to focus on what is most important to them – because they know that ready is a decision, not a feeling.

on the other hand, the people i work with are not usually:

  • the type of person who needs or wants someone to tell them exactly what to do – even though sometimes there’s a part of you that secretly wishes someone would just tell you what your next best step is!
  • the type of person who always feels confident or optimistic – because it’s normal to have a part of you that feels a little scared.
  • clear about exactly HOW they’re going to achieve what they want – they just know that they will figure it out one way or another.

a little bit (More) about you

I’d love to hear more about what it is that you’re looking for:

  • Maybe you’d like some help to get crystal clear on your vision for what you’re stepping into.
  • Perhaps you’re already clear on what you want, but you’d like some help to create a plan to get there.
  • It might be that you already know the steps that will get you where you’re going, but you need some support in taking the first step.
  • Or it may be that you are clear on where you’re going and how to get there, but you’re keen to get there even faster!

To give you an idea of the variety:

  • Financial e.g. paying off debt and growing savings.
  • Creative e.g. writing books and writing songs.
  • Relationships e.g. improving relationships with spouse and kids.
  • Career e.g. building a business.
  • Health and fitness e.g. losing weight, eating a healthy diet.
